Dr.Ekrem Civas was born in 1971, graduated from Dicle University School of Medicine in 1993. Between 1993-1996 in Istanbul he worked at several medical centers for Health Ministry and got his residency in dermatology in 1999 and submit his thesis concerning “Behcet s Disease”. In 1999, he completed his military service as a doctor in Girne-Cyprus. In 2000-2003 he made his compulsory duty in dermatology in Batman. In 2003, he continued his practice in Ankara Numune Hospital and resigned in 2007. He has been working in private practice since then.

He has been interested and specialized in the field of hair transplantation since 1999, and has attended several courses concerning hair transplantation. His major attempt took place, in 2003, in Poland. Dr. Kolasinski has shared his experience with him, then, in 2004, in Canada he attended ‘Basic Hair Transplantation Course’ followed by a course in Newyork Hairloss Center relating ‘Determining New hairline in Hair Transplantation’ in 2005 in USA. In 2007, in Sweden in Medica Clinic with Dr. Larsson and in 2008, in Spain with Dr.Vilodres and he built his specialty on a firm ground.

He has been qualified and certified as a member in 1993 Turkish Medical Association(TTB), in 1996 Turkish Dermatology Association (TDD), in 2003 International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS ) and European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ESHRS ). In 2004 International Society of Dermatologic Surgery ISDS (ICOS) ve Turkish Society of Cosmetic Scientists (TÜKAD); in 2005 International Society of Lipolysistherapy (ILS) ; in 2009, (ACADEMY) International Academy of Body Contouring and Laser Lypolysis and (DCD) Society of Dermatological Surgery, in 2010 Asian Association Hair restoration Surgeons (AAHRS), in 2011 American board hair restoration surgery (ABHRS) .

As a member of ISHRS and ESHRS, he is actively performing FUT and FUE method, hair loss treatment, hair restoration in women and burn cases, non-androgenetic alopecia, hair restoration and seeking answers to quests of his colleagues from all over the world to make a contribution to science. Also, he stands as a consultant doctor in the laser applications such as rejuvenation, vascular lesions and hair removal.

He has especially focused on developping hair transplantation techniques and correction of dermatologic problems with laser systems and continue scientific work with a cardiovascular surgeon and a plastic surgeon.

He wrote 3 books concerning hair transplantation and laser surgery and he has 20 articles published in national and international journals and 21 scientific posters.

He is married and a father of two kids.

Doctor Ekrem Civas, M.D is a board certified Dermatologist and he is first Turkish doctor of American board hair restoration surgery certified.

Grants

     He discovered a pattern to improve FUE technique by comparing three different device in determining FUE damages in hair transplantation. His work has been published in ISHRS and has been presented in Madrid in ESHRS congress.

     He has done research coming second in the world concerning alopecia areata in hair transplantation and has been recorded as a scientific article.

     His presentation of hair transplantation techniques for scalp, beard, brow and moustache scars caused by burn or trauma and serial broad case study has been accepted as a scientific statement in ISHRS congress in Boston.

     He wrote a chapter titled ‘ Utilization of Nd Yag in vascular lesions’published by Nova Publishers in USA.
He has taken part as a editor in one of the most prestigious scientific periodicals in Turkey concerning ‘hair transplantation’ which stands as the first publication and exclusive edition written in Turkish on hair transplantation.
