Biography of Ekrem CİVAŞ, MD., Dermatologist
I was born in 1971, graduated from Dicle School of Medicine in 1993 and got my residecy in dermatology in 1999. I resigned from Ankara Numune Hospital in 2007 and has been working in private practice since then.
I have been interested and specialized in the field of hair transplantation since 1999, and have attended several courses concerning hair transplantation. My major attempt took place, in 2003, in Poland. Dr. Polanski has shared his experience with me, then, in 2004, in Canada I attended ‘Basic Hair Transplantation Course’ followed by a course in Newyork Hairloss Center relating ‘Determining New hairline in Hair Transplantation’ in 2005 in USA. In 2007 in Switzerland in Medica Clinic with Dr. Larsson and in 2008 in Spain with Dr.Vilodres I built my specialty on a firm ground.
I have been qualified as a member in 1993 Turkish Medical Association(TTB); in 1996 Turkish Dermatology Association (TDD); in 2003 International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS ) and European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ESHRS ); in 2004 International Society of Dermatologic Surgery ISDS (ICOS) ve Turkish Society of Cosmetic Scientists (TÜKAD); in 2005 International Society of Lipolysistherapy (ILS) .
I made several speeches in the national and international congresses such as in 2003, in Ankara relating ‘Hair Loss and Stress; in 2007, in Bursa relating ‘The Utilization of Laser for Rejuvenation’ ; in 2007, in ISHRS Paris Congress ,relating ‘Restoration of Bad Hair Transplants’; in 2007, in Istanbul Society of Cosmetic Scientists Congress in Istanbul relating ‘The Main Principles of Hair Transplantation’; in 2008, in ESHRS Madrid Congress, ‘The comparison of three different techniques in FUE Method’; in 2009, in the 2nd National Dermatologic Surgery in Istanbul relating ‘The Utilization of Laser in Extraordinary Vascular Lesions; in 12th ESLAS in 2009 in Istanbul relating ‘Hair Transplantation in Young Patients’; XIX Prof.Dr. Lütfü Tat 2009 Ankara semposium relating ‘Non- AGA Hair loss Restoration’; in 2010 May in Cesme relating ‘ What is Hair Transplantation? And New techniques’ ; in 2010, in Istanbul relating Hair Transplantation Procedure’ in İstanbul Society of Cosmetic Scientists Congress.
As a member of ISHRS and ESHRS, I am actively performing FUT and FUE method, hair loss treatment, hair restoration in women and burn cases, non-aga (androgenetic alopecia) hair restoration and seeking answers to quests of my colleagues from all over the world to make a contribution to science. Also, I stand as a consultant doctor in the laser applications such as rejuvenation,vascular lesions and hair removal.
I have especially focused on developping hair transplantation techniques and correction of dermatologic problems with laser systems and continue scientific work with a cardovascular surgeon and a plastic surgeon.
I have 16 articles published in national and international journals and 22 scientific scientific comittee appointmens. I am married and a father of two kids.
Grants
1.I discovered a pattern to improve FUE technique by comparing three different device in determining FUE damages in hair transplantation. My work has been published in ISHRS and has been presented in Madrid in ESHRS congress.
2.I have done research coming second in the world concerning alopecia areata in hair transplantation and has been recorded as a scientific article.
3.My presentation of hair transplantation techniques for scalp, beard, brow and moustache scars caused by burn or trauma and serial broad case study has been accepted as a scientific statement in ISHRS congress in Boston.
4.I wrote a chapter titled ‘ Utilization of Nd Yag in vascular lesions’published by Nova Publishers in USA .
